Lochter Park, Inverurie

Key Facts

The walls were standard open panel timber frame, the intermediate floors were pre fabricated within the factory to form floor cassettes which were delivered to site and fitted into position in a fraction of the time that it would take to fit a conventional loose joist method which requires each joist to be fitted individually.

The roof was pre-fabricated at ground level and mechanically lifted into position; not only does this provide reduced health and safety risk by minimising operatives working from height, it contributes significantly to reducing the overall build programme.

Benefits of working with SMTS:

  • High production capacity with enough flexibility to meet and improve the build programme

  • Experience in a high volume private market housing for sale

  • Greater focus on front end design and engineering basis to drive cost efficiencies through valve engineering

  • Fabricated cassette floor and roof systems to reduce on site waste, build programmes and health and safety risks

Value Engineering:

  • Early load information to ensure economical foundation design

  • Economical wall solutions to meet the required thermal and acoustic performance standards

Benefits of Timber Frame:

  • Speed of Build

  • Superior acoustic performance

  • Superior thermal performance

  • Reduced health & safety risk

  • Precision engineered product

  • Easy integration of service and follow on trades
